Fixed Network
To request a network address for a device (printer, computer etc.), please fill out this web form.
The CSE network is divided into several subnets. A network address on one subnet will not work on a network jack connected to a different subnet. To request help with changing or activating a network jack, please email CSEHelp or fill out this web form. Please include the network jack (wallplate number N.N.NN and jack C-F) in your request for help.

Wireless Network
The CSE Department has wireless connectivity throughout EBU3b via the campus network, maintained by ACS Network Operations. For more information visit UCSD Wireless Network.

In addition to the above ACS Network Operations support for the wireless network the CSE Systems and Networking research group has provided a wireless network problem reporting web page which will allow them to research and help fix wireless network problems within the CSE building.

They have equipment set up that may be able to track problems down more quickly than ACS Network Operations can. This problem reporting form should only be used for problems within the CSE building. Please fill out this web form to report a wireless networking problem. Note that while some members of CSEHelp will see the problem reports entered, you will be working directly with the Systems and Networking research group by filling out the above mentioned form.

Campus Dialin Information
Dial-In services are available through Network Operations. For more information visit UCSD Dial-In Service. Reminder: If you have a Network Operations Dail-In account, use your UCSD network username and password (not your CSE username and password).

Campus VPN Access
Starting 6/2003 campus Network Operations no longer allows direct connections from Campus to the Internet on the Micrsoft networking ports. This change was made help make the campus network more secure from outside intruders. If you need to access (from off-campus) services like Windows File Shares, Exchange Servers, etc. you will need to use the campus VPN server. More information can be found on the Network Operations website. Please note the links for downloading the client software are listed at the bottom of the page.
