Course Description:
VLSI integrated-circuit building blocks of computing systems, and their implementation. Computer-aided design and performance simulations, design exercises and projects. Devices, standard cells and interconnects, clocking, power/ground distribution, arithmetic modules, memories. Methodologies and tradeoffs in system implementation.

Prerequisites:
Layout (CSE 165 or ECE 260A) and logic design (CSE 140 or ECE 111), or consent of instructor.
