Financial support is available to qualified undergraduate students in the form of scholarships, fellowships and loans. Undergraduates may also qualify to work as Readers or Tutors for CSE undergraduate courses.

Fees for the 2006-2007 academic year are $6,684.60 for California residents. Non-California residents and international student's fees must add projected out-of-state tuition of $18,684 for the academic year. California residents are exempted from paying tuition. United States citizens may become state residents after living in California for one year and fulfilling other requirements. On-campus housing spaces are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Incoming fall Freshmen who arrive during the 2006-2007 academic year are guaranteed a two year, six consecutive academic quarters of on-campus housing. However, due to high demand and limited space available, on-campus housing during the 2006-2007 academic year is expected to be full. There will be many students who will be offered a space at another UCSD college or a triple space to accommodate for these needs.

Fees for Undergraduate Residential Housing (residence halls and apartments) room and board for a three-quarter academic year, excluding quarter breaks are as follows:

• $8,200 for students residing in a double (shared) bedroom
• $8,700 for students residing in a single (private) bedroom

A wide variety of housing is also available off-campus. The cost of off-campus varies dramatically, and it can be difficult to find suitable housing during certain times of the year, especially September. Students should make their housing arrangements well in advance of the start of the school year.
