Summer Programs (for High School Students)

This exciting program is designed specifically for talented and motivated high school students. The California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science [COSMOS] is a 4-week residential summer program open to entering ninth through exiting twelfth-grade high school students with demonstrated interest and achievement in math and science.

This intensive experience is intended to encourage the brightest and most promising young minds to continue their interest in these fields. Located on four University of California campuses (Davis, Irvine, San Diego and Santa Cruz), COSMOS provides students with an unparalleled opportunity to work side-by-side with outstanding university faculty and researchers, covering topics extending beyond the typical high school curriculum.

COSMOS at UCSD will place a strong emphasis on technology and engineering, in addition to mathematics and science, and will be administered through the Jacobs School of Engineering.

Kids learn best by doing. DMA provides straight-forward instruction and hands-on learning, Digital Media Adventures digital arts and tech camp gives your child the tools to create a unique, personal project. From beginner to advanced and everything in between, there’s a place at Digital Media Adventures for your child. Beginners won’t get lost. The advanced won’t be bored. And your child comes home with a project as unique as them — and the confidence to apply their new skills.

Take interests further and gain a competitive edge for school, college, and future careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Ages 7-17 create apps, video games, C++/Java programs, movies, robots, and more.  Weeklong summer tech camps held at over 80 prestigious universities nationwide including UC San Diego, Cal State San Marcos, Princeton, Stanford, and others. Tech Trek is a math/science camp designed to develop interest, excitement and self-confidence in young women who will enter eighth grade in the fall. It features hands-on activities in math, science and related fields. All sleeping, eating, instructional and recreational facilities are located on a university campus where camps are held.
