CSE81 - The Internet and The World Wide Web
Units: 4
Course Objectives: This course is designed to improve student's understanding of computer networks
and the related software tools.
Course Description: Introduction to communication networks and the World Wide Web, a set of interconnected
multimedia information servers, from a user's perspective. Students obtain hands-on experience
with the web browsers and search engines, and learn to design HTML documents and CGI scripts.
Format: 3 hours of lecture per week, 1 hour of discussion section per week, 6 hours of lab per week,
and 2 hours of outside preparation per week.
Prerequisites: CSE 1 or CSE 5A or CSE 8A or CSE 8B or CSE 9A or CSE 9B or CSE 10 or CSE 11.
