CSE91 – Perspective in Computer Science and Engineering

Units: 2

Course Objectives:
Required by students starting Fall 2004. This course is waived for Transfer Students. The purpose of the course is to apprise students of what is actually involved in doing computer science, the better to orient them early toward research opportunities, graduate study, and industry careerss.

Course Description:
A seminar format discussion led by CSE faculty on topics in central areas of computer science, concentrating on the relation among them, recent developments and future directions.

Format:
Per week: 1.5 hours of seminar per week, 1.5 hours of outside preparation

Prerequisites:
None

Other restrictions:
Majors only.
